Azteca 2….

This was definitely a bad day on the Bay. San Diego Union article on the Azteca 2 on fire at the old Van Camps Cannery which has now turned into the Dole Plant. In the 70s and early 80s the Azteca 1 and 2 were very familiar  seiners in the Bay  . Share your photos at [email protected]

Madrugador….

This photo is of the Madrugador , built by Campbells Shipyard in 1975 for Mr Joe Madruga, one of his many boats he owned in his great life. I personally spent some time aboard this seiner growing up with my father as a Navigator  along with Captain John ( TEX ) Teixeira many great times.  Please share your memories and photos at [email protected]

Finger Piers part 2….

Another one of my Finger Piers photos. There was always something special about passing these docks, maybe it was the fact that they were the first docks we passed in the car or the good old fashion wooden docks. Trying to read the skiff the seiner on the left is possibly the Gina Karen but just a guess . [email protected]
