Aquarius…

The age of Aquarius , this was a top seiner in its day. Dasilva family owned and later added the Sea Encounter to its fleet. Loved everything about this rig. Sea Hawk..

Just a great shot of the Sea Hawk in the Western Pacific , I believe this was taken in the summer of 84 or 85 . Just another seiner built by Campbells shipyard in San Diego, We really could use some more photos please help … sdtunaboats@cox.net

Cheryl Marie, it really didn’t get more San Diego then this rig. One of the last seiners to leave San Diego in the late 80s or actually maybe even early 90s. Thank You to Kevin Madruga for sharing some of his memories with his crew members.Some of the crew in photos are Scott Porter, Kevin madruga , Louie Cunha and Fabian Daluz holding the razor. Calypso..

Calypso built at San Diego Marine. One of a kind with the open hull look and the free standing mast. Martinac made a similar style rig the South Pacific. Both shipyards quickly changed the style. Send in your pictures to sdtunaboats@cox.net
