Pacific Queen…

Tuna Seiner Pacific Queen docked at B Street Pier in San Diego, I’m guessing in the late 70s. Built by Martinac shipyard in 1967, this little seiner held its own for a long time. Share your photos please at sdtunaboats@cox.net .

Proud Heritage ….

The great Proud Heritage out to Sea. I guess when I think of my childhood and growing up with my Father one boat comes to mind, The Proud Heritage. Owned by Manuel Silva it was a great seiner with so many personal memories. sdtunaboats@cox.net

Carol S….

Growing up with the Tuna fleet I always thought there was something special about the Westgate seiners. My father fished a couple of trips aboard the United States and I’ll never forget going through the little guard gate at the docks under the bridge to  get to the boat. Later on they seemed to just disappear one at a time when the more modern seiners came into the Fleet. sdtunaboats@cox.net

Sea Quest….

A brand new Sea Quest pulling into fuel dock back in 1970s. I know its not the greatest shot but look at that fresh deck and speed boat. Owned by Manuel Silva the Sea Quest was a common site in the waterfront. share your photos we need photos sdtunaboats@cox.net

Apollo…

The Seiner Apollo, such a unique seiner with its look and size . Must have been something to fish aboard ? Share your memories with us at sdtunaboats@cox.net

Willa G….

Andrea C…

The great Castagnola fleet , Andrea C headed out of the Bay. I  loved all the boats in the fleet but I definitely have admiration for  their seiners.. sdtunaboats@cox.net

Leaving the Bay..

I admit its not the best picture I’ve ever put up but it brings back so many memories. I can’t count how many times I was down at Shelter Island looking  to see a seiner headed out of the bay, hard to believe its all gone. Share your memories with us at sdtunaboats@cox.net

Mary Antoinette….

So many seiners called San Diego home port. Some just seemed like they were here more then others. The Mary Antoinette was one of those, maybe its just as simple as they made fast trips and were always home . Great seiner owned by the Zolezzi family. Share your memories at sdtunaboats@cox.net
