Pisces….

In my opinion the  best little seiner around is the Pisces, owned by Leo correia and family. Originally launched the John F Kennedy , this seiner is another that holds a special place in my family hearts. Besides the fact that the Correia family is as good as it gets in the community , I had many Cousins ,Uncles fish aboard this seiner one actually was skipper for a while. It was definitely a sad day when this seiner was sold. Share your memories at [email protected]

Julius Zolezzi ….

The entire Tuna Industry lost an icon this week with the passing of a legend, Julius Zolezzi. Mr. Zolezzi owned several boats during his time in the industry, including the Marietta, the Jeannine and the Lone Wolf. In addition to his ownership of boats, he also owned the fuel dock located at the Embarcadero. I have fond memories of many of my father’s trips beginning and ending at that fuel dock. This is a tremendous loss for everyone including the Italian community. My deepest condolences to his family during this time. If you would like to share any stories of Mr. Zolezzi, please do so. Uncle Louie…

Well it doesn’t get any better then this seiner The  Uncle Louie , absolutely a beautiful boat built for the Castagnola Family in 1978. I will never forget being a kid and driving down to my Dads boat with him and seeing the Uncle Louie tied up at the Embarcadero for the first time . I was at awe of her Beauty.
