American Queen …

The Seiner American Queen cruising in the waters . Launched by Campbell’s shipyard in 1972 , this was one of two seiners by Campbell’s with the raised pilot house the other being the Pan Pacific. Connie Jean….

I recently received this photo of the Connie Jean docked at  Seaport Village  in San Diego Bay, I was told this was in the early 90’s . Its really hard to believe this seiner was one of the last in the fleet still fishing , it was originally launched in 1966 by Martinac Shipyard. Thank You to Curt Clark for sharing this with me. I love this picture of the Finisterre in a set with the speed boat driver circling , and it appears to be the Zapata Discoverer in a set in the background .  I must admit I used to think being in a speedboat and having the chopper above really got your blood flowing , but seeing these photos of the spotter plane helping the Finisterre set the net off of New Zealand  is awesome.
