OOOOOPS..

This photo was sent to us by our loyal follower Clyde Williams. He says this is the Evelyn Da Rosa in a set, and some how the Gina Anne ended up inside there net! Maybe Clyde can come on in and fill us in? [email protected]

  1. Hi Jimmy & Affirm. I can remember Fuezta talking about it on the PA system when it happened. That's why I grabbed the camera & took this photo. Probably around 1978 or so, school fishing-somewhere in the Eastern Pacific. Not sure how it all panned out, just know the two boats involved, with a high school friend of mine Larry Da Rosa on his namesake rig.

Jockying for position on a school & the Da Rosa-let's go (who cares if you got another seiner inside the corkline). Not sure how the Gina got out-or the outcome of this incident either, cause we were off to find our own school fish set, to be made.

I can only imagine or guess the Da Rosa's skiff had to wait with the bow-ortza while still in tow, until the Gina could pass-by to get out. When your on school's hitting balls of bait, "it's Dog eat Dog".
With all of this going on, I would almost bet the Da Rosa, "probably skunked" this set.

Too bad I did not have a better camera ! I know the conditions were choppy that day, but when you look at the actual photo, you can barely see the corkline.
