  1. I see you have posted information on several tuna boats. Do you have any information on the steel tuna boat "Paramount" once owned by Edward Madruga, the "Sun Hilarita" and "Sun Jason" once owned by Peter F. Bullen or the "Mauritania" once owned by C. W. Drake? They were all built by Avondale Marine Ways (New Orleans) in 1946 and 1947. Any suggestions as to how I might find information regarding any of these vessels would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Steve

  2. The Mauritania was owned by my grandfather, Manuel M Cardozo. He sailed it through the Panama Canal after it was launched. It was the first steel hulled tuna boat.

  3. i do remember the mauritania and paramount, many days ago.

i believe my father in law fished on the Sun Jason a very long time ago.
i remember him telling me some of the old stories of the old days, they were truly
    great days.
