Voyager..

Well I can’t tell you a thing about this seiner. But damn its a rig and I’m sure it caught fish. This photo I believe was taken in early 80s. Anyone have anything on this seiner ? [email protected]

Caribe…

Seiner Caribe, to be honest Ed Gann had a few seiners named Caribe. This was definitely one of the last ones,  if not the last one. Im thinking this photo was taken in  Panama . Mr Ganns was a huge part of the tuna industry in San Diego. [email protected]

Pacific Queen…

Tuna Seiner Pacific Queen docked at B Street Pier in San Diego, I’m guessing in the late 70s. Built by Martinac shipyard in 1967, this little seiner held its own for a long time. Share your photos please at [email protected] .

Proud Heritage ….

The great Proud Heritage out to Sea. I guess when I think of my childhood and growing up with my Father one boat comes to mind, The Proud Heritage. Owned by Manuel Silva it was a great seiner with so many personal memories. [email protected]

Carol S….

Growing up with the Tuna fleet I always thought there was something special about the Westgate seiners. My father fished a couple of trips aboard the United States and I’ll never forget going through the little guard gate at the docks under the bridge to  get to the boat. Later on they seemed to just disappear one at a time when the more modern seiners came into the Fleet. [email protected]

Sea Quest….

A brand new Sea Quest pulling into fuel dock back in 1970s. I know its not the greatest shot but look at that fresh deck and speed boat. Owned by Manuel Silva the Sea Quest was a common site in the waterfront. share your photos we need photos [email protected]
