Todays newspaper article looks good but on further review its not. Most if not all of these seiners in this photo, The Caribe , Intrepido , Fenico , Kerri M and the Finisterre were sold and most to Venezuela . The once proud San Diego fleet is just about gone. [email protected]

Another newspaper article from my collection. The Mermaid lowering its skiff and it all came down, the Mast and Booms all fell thank God there were no injuries . I remember this day like it was yesterday .I was with my father aboard the Proud Heritage at G street it was definitely a strange site to see when the Mermaid came by on its way to the shipyard . In this photo the seiner Pacific Princess was docked in front and the Antonina C is off the starboard side . Definitely a tough day for the Correia family . [email protected]
