San Diego Tuna Boats

I got this one sent to me today. It is the seiner Manicongo. It was built Manicongo in La Verna Italy in 1977. Later named changed to Loango .Sister ship was the Margarette L.  Im told this is the Maiden Voyage outside of Panama. Beautiful Tuna Seiner J. M Martinac. One of the last Martinac’s built . I want to say it was the first Martinac with a stern Engine, but i may be off on that. Great looking seiner originally built for Ganns . Send in your pictures to sdtunaboats@cox.net

Venturous on a trial run off of Point Loma if i remember right around 87. I took this photo myself from our Jet Ranger helicopter . Nice boat that ended up sinking off of Panama unfortunately . Send in your photos to sdtunaboats@cox.net

Marco Polo, Great Martinac seiner built in 1971. Loved the Crows nest on all these Martinacs. But most of all i loved The name Marco polo, great name. Later changed name to Scorpio 1 , send in your pictures to sdtunaboats@cox.net

Polaris, Again one of my favorite boats. Maybe because my father was skipper shortly on her, But i always loved the name. Later was renamed Gina Marie which i basically have no pictures of the boat with that name. Anyone out there want to help with that one. Send your pictures to sdtunaboats@cox.net
