Very Sad news, I need to report the passing of a great fisherman . Joseph Scafidi. He was born in San Gregorio , Sicily in 1924. He moved to the United States in 1950 and earned  Masters papers a few years later. He was skipper of many boats in his career , his favorite the Finisterre. In 1982 he made his last trip on the Antonina C,  28 day trip Full load 750 tons. My condolences to his family. [email protected]

Wow! I don’t know what to say.  I started this site to preserve the history and memories of the San Diego Tuna Fleet. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has contributed pictures over the years. I need to say a special thanks to my good friend Tom Walsh. So lets keep moving! We always need photos.
