One three sisterships built by Avondale Boat works Louisiana. The other two were the Santa Anita, and the Sea Magic. Load capacity as a bait boat was 240 tons with the boxes. It ran a GMC diesle and was fast for its times (ten Knots). It never became a net seiner she sank mysteriously off Peru 1959
I was on the Santa Anita for one.I became a full share man on that boat. The captains name I believe was Sweeney. The year was most likely 1970.I have a few picture of us in the racks. The boat held 240 tons, and every time we filled up a tank we got a shot of whiskey, also you got one bucket of water a day to wash up with.Toclean up we just jumped in the bait tanks.Longest trip was 90days.Fished from Costa Rica to Washington.
