1. I am one of Larry Roe's three sons. I was at the launching of this boat and road aboard its maiden voyage from National Steel and Ship building, where it was built and launched, to Santa Barbara and its return. It was posthumously named after my father who died in February 1959. My mother christened this named after her husband and Dad's Mother was in attendance along with many other significant people. Dad was the Superintendent of New Construction at National Steel and Ship Building when he passed. I, and the rest of my extended family, would love to acquire this photo and any others of the Larry Roe.

4. My dad Loopers first tuna boat, then the Kerri M, Cape San Vincent, Bold Contender, Gina Anne and the list goes on.

6. Hello everyone , the Larry ROE , was cut in half ( extended ) it was Sold to Tommy Crivello, it became the Marla Marie. The other boat was the Carol S , my uncle Frank died in 1968 , while he was in the skiff Brailing , off the coast of San Salvador , they left his body at the dock, and left ( chicken shit ) C Arnold Smith said leave the body and get out before confescate the ship. When they got back to San Diego , the Crew wouldn’t talk to anyone . They bailed they were scared of losing the jobs . My uncle was 33 yrs. Old left a wife and 3 small kids.
