Was with the crew, including Captain Danny Reis when we picked Legacy up at Martinac Shipbuiling in Tacoma as a brand new vessel. had the first side scan sonar to look into the net. Captain Laddie Martin was the Furuno tech rep on board when we made the first trip to the Western Tropical Pacific. Put almost two hundred tons of fish in the net on our first set, but it was too much, and couldn't get it all aboard. I was the helo mechanic. Fished five or six trips on Legacy, all out of American Samoa. She was a beautiful ship.
I'll try to find my picture of Legacy's helo, 'Lil Leg' and send it in to you. I was pilot on it in the early 80's and jumped to Zollezi's Jeannine in Samoa.
