Burton built these vessels in the early 80's: Carol Linda, Patrician now Carmela, Deolinda, Lone Wolf now Don Francesco, Elspeth now Oriental Kim, Judith Carol now Lady Marion.
I helped build all of this fleet at Burton’s Shipbuilding and Repair, Inc. in Pt. Arthur, TX. I was fortunate to get to do much of the welding on the crow’s nests of each vessel. My uncle Jim Strickland was a yard Superintendent there and helped me learn to weld. It was a great time of life.
Mis-took a "rain-squall" on the radar for an island, Ouch. Thier skiff along with the Lone Wolf's skiff & ours (the Jeannine) pulled this rig off of a reef in either '83 or '84. The location was the Gilbert's. Hopefully I can provide some follow-up pictures. The engineer pumped almost everything overboard, fuel oil, cold water, brine, pitched full oil drums etc etc. to this boat as light as it could, so a pull @ high tide would un-lodge it. It worked.
